Petit Figeac 2020

Neighbour to Château Cheval Blanc, Château Figeac is a very fine Premier Grand Cru Classé estate and its second wine is made to the same very high standards. All created under the very watchful eye of director Frédéric Faye. He believes precision timing is all important during harvest, so each parcel of grapes is picked at exact optimum ripeness. This means vintage can stretch over 4 weeks. Cultivation is equally precise, the work tailored to each parcel of vines and the heavy labour in the 'field' mostly carried out by horse, rather than tractor. This ensures a lighter touch on the soil. Petit Figeac is made from the grapes of the estate's younger vines, carefully fermented, then aged in barrel. Open early and decant, or cellar.
