The Wine
The success story of Marlborough and its Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most remarkable in modern times, and one in which Hunter’s can justly claim to have played a major part. Today the estate is run by Jane Hunter, herself a trained viticulturist, and she has a string of accolades for her excellent work, including an OBE and Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to viticulture. This is a very special Sauvignon made by Jane’s nephew James Macdonald, using fruit exclusively from their original 'home block' vineyard, planted 40 years ago. And it has received rave reviews. James said, “I devised this wine to test the boundaries of what's possible with Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. We are thrilled to see such great reviews.”
