The Wine
Sancerre is a region of the Loire's Central Vineyards, famous for some of the world's finest Sauvignon Blanc. The Naudet family have been grape growers there for five generations and have slowly built up 16 hectares of vineyards. These are all tiny plots, divided over seven different subregions. Each site has a unique soil and aspect to the sun, which results in a different character in a wine. This elegant white uses grapes solely from caillotte soils – limestone that lends an intense minerality to the wine, along with a hint of blossom. Domaine des Buissonnes Caillotte brims with bright lemon, passion fruit and flinty aromas. It is fruity, ripe, yet pure and crisp with great elegance. Ideal with fish and a classic with goat's cheese.
