This is a youthful, fruit filled Merlot from the talented Marta Martínez and a cellar that also makes our popular, oaky Palacio del Conde range. Merlot is gaining ground in Spain as more people come to appreciate its irresistible red fruit charms. Indeed, the author of The New Spain wrote: “Spanish wine is more vibrant, happening and fascinating than it has ever been”. It's certainly an opinion perfectly illustrated by the bright versatility, and almost New World style, of this Merlot. The grapes comes from elevated, sunkissed vineyards inland from the bustling Mediterranean city of Valencia. They produce a fruit forward red; smooth enough to enjoy solo, or with chicken, pesto pasta, roasted vegetables and, of course, all kinds of tapas.
