Lyme Bay Bacchus Block 2018

English Regional Wine

Try this terrifically zesty fresh white from England’s beautiful Devon hills. Last vintage won two Golds, and with the lovely warm summer of 2018 this wine should exceed that. Try this white with its bright citrusy freshness and tropical peach notes.

Lyme Bay is a small West Country winery passionate about producing delicious, award winning wines from their home in the scenic Axe Valley. This corner of East Devon enjoys a maritime climate, temperate and with a long growing season, well suited to viticulture. Lyme Bay’s owners planted 26,000 vines in three plots in 2010. Their hard work was rewarded with an excellent first harvest in 2014, and a Silver medal. And many medals since. They also source grapes from some of the best growers in England. As its name suggests, this white is made from Bacchus, a grape that ripens well in Great Whitmans Vineyard in Essex. Intense grapefruit freshness, broad tropical fruit and herbal undertones – it’s a refreshing drop solo or with lemony chicken.
