Château Angludet 2022
Margaux AOC Cru Bourgeois
Loading...
Purchased in 1961 by the Sichel family, owners too of Château Palmer, Angludet is a Margaux that often far excels its Cru Bourgeois status. The stunning 2022 vintage is a case in point, with its pretty aromas, solid core of fruit and firm tannins.

The Wine
Purchased in 1961 by the Sichel family, Château Angludet is one of the most historic estates in the Médoc. It dates back to the 12th century and is named after Bertrand d'Angludet, a knight and noble lord of that period. It is well positioned 3 kilometres from the Gironde river, on a plateau of Garonne gravel with some sand, both affording great drainage to its 32 hectares of vines. Today it is overseen by Bernard Sichel, the sixth generation of the Sichel family to be involved in wine. Traditional fermentation in concrete vats and ageing in barrel, a quarter new each year, produces a firm style that takes just a few years to open out. From this exceptional vintage, producing "stunning wines" (Jancis Robinson), this is a wine to snap up.
