The Wine
Burgundy’s 2020 vintage had fine wine gurus hot around the collar. As Burgundy expert Allen Meadows states “2020 is absolutely a vintage that you want in your cellar.” Les Lavières is from a small family domaine dating back to 1702, which passed down the female side until the birth of Lucien Camus in 1949, the first son for generations. He married Bernadette Bruchon and since 2001, their son Guillaume and daughter Alexandra, an oenologist at renowned Albert Bichot, have gradually taken charge. Situated in Savigny, they have plots of enviably old vines in some of the finest sites, which accounts for the quality and consistency they achieve. An elegant and poised old-vine Pinot Noir. Decant ahead of time to release its delectable aromas.
