The name William Knuttel resounds in California wine circles. In the 1980s, Knuttel was key to establishing Saintsbury as a leader of fine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and later helped build a great reputation for Chalk Hill and Dry Creek wineries too. In 2001, he founded his own estate and today is joined by his dancer daughter Kate and cellist son, Sebastian. This full-bodied, velvety red is from Alexander Valley, one of the key winegrowing regions of California’s Sonoma County. Its warm climate is ideal for growing gorgeously ripe and vibrant Cabernet. Using handpicked grapes, native yeasts and ageing in French oak barrels has produced an intense plum and cherry red, with earthy spice. Open early and decant or cellar. Great with red meats.

"This is a deliciously plump and velvety rich Cabernet from a top Sonoma winemaker. Seriously good" Clare Tooley
