Five Golds and two 95 Point scores for this full throttle red from the RedHeads team in deepest Barossa. It combines big on spice Durif with cassis scented, old vine Cab and exotic Touriga. Oak aged for toasty complexity, it’s gobsmackingly gorgeous.

More information
RedHeads winemaker Dan Graham says he’s had his eye on the Durif at Joe Roccat’s One Tree Hill in the Barossa for a few years now. In 2016 he bagged it to go with the Cabernet he managed to secure from fifth generation grower Adrian ‘Hoffy’ Hoffman, in the Barossa’s Ebenezer. With some of his vines over 130 years old, Hoffy is a bit of a legend in the area. The two vats of grapes made a fine combination, perfected by a drop of Touriga Nacional that has been aged in a traditional solera system (traditional to Spain’s Jerez, NOT the Barossa) and is totally mellow and delicious. This wine is pumping with rich, ripe black fruit and spice with firm tannins. Excellent now and after cellaring a few years, too. A star with a hearty casserole.
