Orange wine is the oldest style in the world, almost abandoned after two world wars, then recently rediscovered. Open your mind and your palate, and put your preconceptions aside. Hand-picked Gewurztraminer grapes are soaked on their skins, pressed and fermented, just like a red wine. The result is Gewurz’s classic big spice and lychee perfume with the structure and weight of a red. It’s made by brothers Peter and Fritz May, seventh generation winemakers at the Karl May estate in Rheinhessen. Both have studied oenology at university and travelled widely – Peter having worked in New Zealand and Fritz in Australia and Austria. Eco-friendly in the vineyard and non-interventional in the cellar, they have created this fine, complex wine.

"A white wine with lots of character and structure – a great food wine. Cherish the difference" Kirsten Willis
