Los Hermanos Manzanos Blanco Barrica 2019

Rioja DOCa

Crisp, ripe and fragrant, Los Hermanos is a class act. It comes from a 200 year old family estate that has a very modern approach to winemaking. This accounts for its brillant fresh pear and apple fruit with a gentle toastiness from oak fermentation.

A must try for fans of Rioja’s great whites, this is a truly modern style of wine. It’s from a small family estate founded 200 years ago, with its first winery built in 1890. The wine is crafted entirely from racy fresh Viura and creamy peach Chardonnay from a hilltop vineyard. Brothers Victor and David Manzanos are the great-grandsons of founder Lorenzo Fernández de Manzanos Medrano. Their winemaker Borja Ripa has extensive experience throughout Spain and as far afield as Australia. Enjoy here ripe stone and citrus fruit with subtle creamy toast flavours thanks to barrel fermentation in new oak, plus six months’ ageing in cask. Victor and David suggest you partner it with chicken casserole, grilled salmon, spicy seafood or summer salads.

"Excellent. A lovely white Rioja that drinks well by itself and holds up well with food" Online Review
