Epiphanie – 'a moment of great or sudden revelation’. Claret fans should prepare themselves for just such an experience because L’Épiphanie wines are born of a special relationship with some of the wine world’s greatest properties. And they don’t come any greater than the source of this remarkable Bordeaux. It hails from one of Saint-Emilion’s most prestigious 1er Grand Cru châteaux, with some of the appellation’s finest terroir. Its Grand Vin regularly scores 98 upwards and costs around £300 a bottle. This L'Epiphanie comes from a great vintage that'll only improve with age. As Saint-Emilion rules stipulate wines must be estate-bottled, with details on the back label, spelling it out as from Pavie. Best tucked away. Otherwise, open early.
