Winzer Krems is one of the best cellars in all Austria and a regular winner of top awards. They were founded in 1932 in Krems and today have 962 growers proudly supplying top quality grapes. Grüner Veltliner is their speciality, although they've also won prizes for Riesling and their unique Blauer Zweigelt. In its youth, Grüner has almost Sauvignon like lime freshness, underlining ripe apricot and developing luscious spice with age. And this wine certainly has that. The cellar has an enviable library of old vintages going back to the 1930s. They are kept in the dark, cool cellars, in ideal conditions, to ensure their longevity. Expect ripe apricot, flora and spice. At 40 years old, it's lost some of its acidity, but is long and balanced.

"Complex bouquet of hibiscus, apples, pears, garden herbs, sweet corn - what a wine at 40 years old!" Kirsten Willis
