It seems customers can’t get enough of the dazzling lemon and lightly tropical flavours of New Zealand Sauvignon, so our Buyer Dan has been searching out some new best buys. The Hour-Teller is one – this wine aims to provide you with a glass to pore over, taking all the time you need. For this wine Dan looked further afield than just the classic home of Sauvignon, Marlborough, and discovered this delicious vat from the East Coast on North Island. The cool climate there brings out a touch more of the herbaceous – rather than the tropical – notes of this grape, but it still has all the usual Kiwi exuberance. Great well chilled in summer; gets the taste buds tingling in winter too. Spot on solo or with Thai green curry, chicken pie or seafood.
