When you look at Saint Clair’s track record, there’s no doubt that it is one of New Zealand’s elite estates. As well as Winery and Winemaker of the Year (twice), they have won many prizes including the Perpetual Trophy for Best Sauvignon at the Sydney Show in 2016 and for many more within their range. Neal and Judy Ibbotson planted vineyards in Marlborough in 1978, well ahead of the dozens of properties that popped up in the late ’80s and ’90s. This intense, dazzling fresh Sauvignon uses grapes from Dillons Point, a prized sub-region of Marlborough. Named after one of the area’s very early settlers, the Honourable Constantine Dillon, it’s renowned for the tropical fruit it contributes to a wine. This white is great with seafood or solo.
