We’re delighted to present you with another Gold medal vintage of Gáudio Clássico. It’s a deeply satisfying blend of four native Portuguese grapes, patiently matured in finest French oak, before being cellar rested until it’s ready for you to savour.

The Ribafreixo cellar is the brainwave of Mário Pinheiro and Nuno Bicó, who in 2007 decided to realise their dream – to create a winery in Alentejo and produce some of the region’s finest wines at prices providing excellent value for money. Since their first release, they have won top awards every vintage, including three Golds and 93 points for this release. The duo bought 28 different plots of land to make one estate of 114 hectares. Then they planted vineyards from scratch so they could use the best clones and rootstocks. This is very evident in the wine’s depth of flavour, brimming with rich, dense fruit that beautifully balances the toasty spice of the new French oak. It’s the perfect complement for roasted red meats or a casserole.

"Gorgeous. You can't ignore this big beauty. Fruit with a dry edge. 5 stars" Online Review
