Want a refreshing white with plenty of zip? How about a glass of Picpoul – it’s one of the trendiest grapes right now and almost as popular in UK wine bars as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. This is a fresh and intense 2016 from the excellent winemaker Laurent Sauvage and a multi medal winning cellar. They work closely with 80 growers to obtain the highest quality grapes at harvest time. This tasty Picpoul comes from two types of terroir – one lends that bite of minerality and finesse, the other bright fruit and aromas. Careful cool fermentation and ageing for four months on its lees has produced this delectable white. Picpoul means ‘lipstinger’ – indicating it’s appetisingly fresh and zingy. A great white solo or with seafood or salads.
