Spain may be best known for its oaky reds, but it’d be foolish to overlook its raft of delicious bright berry rosés. Garnacha is the mainstay grape, one that performs brilliantly in Campo de Borja. There the old bush vines and poor soils ensure yields are small and flavour is big – just what you want in your wine. Gran López is from a winemaker nicknamed The Flying Scotsman! Since graduating in oenology Norrel Robertson, a Master of Wine, has plied his trade in Portugal, Australia, France, Chile, New Zealand and Argentina. He fell in love with the amazing quality of Spain’s Aragón and has never left. Using the free run juice of the hand picked Garnacha grapes, and with up to six weeks' lees-stirring, this terrific pink is creamy yet fresh.
