Discovering a parcel of 33 year old Gran Reserva in excellent condition is exceedingly rare. Especially when the wine is from the renowned El Coto bodega that, even in 2019, was awarded 97 Points and 'Best in Show' at the Decanter Awards for their latest Gran Reserva release. It was founded in 1970 and over the decades has grown in size and reputation. Their fine 1987 was aged for two years in barrel, the rest in bottle and the wine still has its original cork. It may crumble, but don't stress. If you need to, push into the bottle, it won't affect the taste. No need to let it breathe, it will evolve in your glass. Wines of this maturity may vary, but our Buyer Beth was really impressed. Evolved, complex mocha, spice and delicate fruit.

"Great showpiece magnum of 33-year-old Gran Reserva for your table – a delicious treat" Beth Willard
