Château Duprat 2019

Bordeaux AOC

Critic James Suckling described the 2019 wines as "good to excellent" and at least as delicious as 2018. There's certainly no shortage of well structured, velvety ripe fruit in this appealing 2019 from a well placed estate in the Entre Deux Mers.

Bordeaux has been blessed in recent years with a run of terrific vintages. Neal Martin of Vinous recently called it "an excellent vintage." Antoni Galloni concurred, "What stands out most about the finest 2019s is their exceptional balance." Enjoy that here with this charming petit château Bordeaux from a small estate, close to the Garonne, in the south of the Entre Deux Mers. At 100 metres altitude and planted on sand, clay and silt soils, its vines – Merlot, Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon – thrive and have produced this most attractive claret. Already appealing, the wine is still young, so is best opened early and decanted. A fine, well structured, balanced red to serve with classic red meat dishes, a rich casserole or cheese.

"An elegant, expressive wine, with velvety fruit, spice hints and well structured tannins" Jean-Marc Sauboua
