Fresh and vibrant with red berry fruit and pepper character
Aroma
Strawberry, grenadine, spice and pepper
The original Cabalié is red, inspired by the thought that Ancient Roman soldiers would have once drunk wines from the very same soils of southern France that growers harvest from today. They may not have had the wherewithal to make rosés back then, but in the 21st century Parker praised winemaker Hervé Sabardeil certainly does. This is the third release of his rosé and it’s likely to be as enthusiastically received as its sibling red. Hervé selected old vine Grenache and Syrah to ensure lovely depth of spicy berry fruit, then harvested early to gain the zippy freshness. It’s an aromatic pink with vibrant strawberry and grenadine flavours and a hint of pepper. Serve chilled with prawns, pan-seared salmon or a chicken and seafood paella.
