With a drive towards lighter, elegantly fruity reds, Beaujolais is regaining its name as a destination for wines with classic Gallic charm. What’s less apparent is that this region produces vibrant rosé, too. It’s rare to find it in the UK. Bring on this lively charmer, made at the Cave du Perréon – a well established cellar in 18th century buildings constructed by the eponymous Baron de la Vauxonne. It belongs to the Alliance des Vignerons du Beaujolais, and uses grapes from 150 small-time growers across the region. This appetising pink is made from Gamay grown on the region’s classic granite soils. These lend a finesse and elegance to this wine’s perfumed fruit. Chill down and pour a glass. It’ll feel like summer, whatever the weather.

"Light, crisp fruit and vivacious freshness flits across your palate. Charming and elegant" Lucy Lettice
