Domaine Philippe Colin Bourgogne Blanc 2019

Bourgogne AOC

Critic William Kelley writes of Philippe Colin, "his style is pure and elegant, beautifully defined by site", a domaine that is very much under-the-radar. A Chassagne specialist, his fine Bourgogne 2019 has bright apple fruit with core minerality.

This outstanding 11.5 hectare domaine lies at the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, with most holdings Premier Cru and on the Puligny side. The domaine used to be part of Colin-Deleger, but Philippe and his brother, Bruno, decided to go their separate ways in 2004. Since then, Philippe's wines have received much praise: "clearly the domaine flies somewhat under the radar when one considers the quality to be found in the bottle." (WK) His style is very pure, with only a little lees stirring and a light touch of oak (often in large-sized barrels), producing wines with a tight core, grippy minerality and succulent, ripe fruit. Using grapes from Chassagne and St-Aubin vineyards, this fine white makes delicious drinking. Open early and serve cool.

"Offers bright green apple and light tangerine aromas. Well balanced with fine weight. Lingers" Neal Martin
