Vieux Télégraphe is no overnight sensation – the family have been building their domaine and reputation for 130 years. It was founded in 1891 by Henri Brunier, who gave his son Hippolyte a small plot in La Crau, a high plateau regarded then as almost unfit for cultivation! That was due to the high ratio of pebbles to soil. Now, of course, it's recognised as Châteauneuf's finest terroir. It's also where Claudio Chappe, inventor of the optical telegraph, built one of his signal towers in 1821, hence the domaine's name. Over the generations, the vineyards have been expanded and to other appellations, but the family's philosophy to create authentic wines of finest quality remains constant. A beautifully structured, lush-fruit, mineral white.

"It's zesty, lime-ridden and briny on the nose, medium to full-bodied and a bit silky" Joe Czerwinski
Wine Advocate on 2018
