Antoine Jobard took over the five-hectare Meursault estate from his father back in 2007 and still today produces a mere 2,000 cases a year. Antoine has developed a more mineral-driven, citrusy style, illustrated in this superb Bourgogne Blanc, with its lightly toasty edge thanks to a gentle touch of oak. Based in Meursault, it's no surprise some of the grapes hail from there. The wine went through a full 'malo' fermentation to lend creamy notes, then rested a year in seasoned oak barrels to lend light toasted spice tones. It makes beautiful drinking now - elegant, poised and crisp. Open early then serve in large-bowled glasses to enjoy the full experience. A classic partner is bourride (fish stew) or sole meunière. Or with creamy risotto.
