Ferraton Père et Fils Hermitage Blanc Les Miaux 2018

Hermitage AOC

Superb 95-point white Hermitage 2018 – "the finest vintage to date" (Jeb Dunnock) – from a great estate. It was adopted by the Rhône's renowned Michel Chapoutier in 2004 and has resulted in this glorious pure Marsanne – exotic, luscious, long.

Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has rocketed. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset is also part of the ‘super team’: the result is some really impressive wines. Add in the 5-Star quality of the 2018 vintage, which Michel described as "a terrific year", and grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous brilliance of this wine. Pure Marsanne from Les Dionnières vineyard, this is superb now, but will age magnificently.
