Jancis Robinson MW named Lapostolle as “the most inspiring Merlot producer I have come across in Chile”. They are the team behind 100-point Clos Apalta, with other awards galore. Enjoy the same meticulous winemaking in this rich, great value Merlot.
"From Chile’s top Merlot producer and Chilean Winemaker of the Year 2017 comes this rich, ripe Merlot"
Beth Willard Buyer for Chile
Founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle (the woman behind the famous liqueur Grand Marnier), the Lapostolle winery quickly rose to prominence in Chile – a country renowned for fine Merlot. In 2008, Wine Spectator named Lapostolle’s flagship wine, 100-point Clos Apalta, No.1 in its prestigious Top 100. In 2017, their winemaker Andrea León was named Top Chilean Winemaker by Wines of Chile. As you might imagine, the winery’s prestigious accolades are extensive – there are many more! Casona Cordillera is from the winery’s estate vineyards, just across the way from Clos Apalta. It is made with the same dedication to quality, but on a larger scale. Luscious, ripe Merlot fruit with a suggestion of oak makes this red very appealing.
